Everything can be learned much easier when you get the hands-on experience
On Tuesday, February 29 2019, UJC Grade 10 students took a break from their classroom study and went out to the field to Museum MACAN (Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara) in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. The students were shown the exhibition from Arahmaiani whose art criticizes the social, economic, and politics aspects of Indonesia. They were also exposed to Lee Mingwei’s art exhibition which touches the lighter sides of life: dance moves from daily chores, written emotions in a letter, and senses enhancement in the dark. The girls particularly showed a great enthusiasm in the writing cubicle where they could write a letter to a friend or simply anyone, which later will be sent to the USA. Overall, it was a lovely field trip and the students got more exposure to the contemporary art.
See you on the next trip!
